VOICES OF RECOVERY

Recovery is a journey, not a destination. Through ECS Central East Regional Recovery Center (CERRC) and ECS ACCORD, people across our community are making meaningful changes in their lives to overcome addiction for the betterment of themselves and those around them. At ECS, we have the privilege of participating in many recovery journeys. Below are stories from people we’ve helped, in their own words, as they celebrate their recovery.

Meet Ralph

“I see the light. Just doing the right thing… ECS has given me a purpose.”

Meet Matthew

“A program like this really helps you get your foundation going and also brings you back to life mentally.”

Meet Giovanni

“[ECS is] a big support, and sometimes you need support whether you think you do or not. It’s good to have somebody to talk to and show you a different way, a new way.”

Meet Greg

“CERRC took me to the next level. They gave me a relapse plan and helped me build my goals. I know I’m in the right place and in the right program at ECS to build my recovery.”

Meet Windi

“ACCORD saves lives. And you don’t know whose life it’s going to save. You are protecting your family by supporting ECS. Life’s a team sport; no one’s winning alone.”

Meet Eladio

“I prayed every day [for] a second chance at life. God heard my prayers, and I was awakened one day and told it was time to go. I can’t express what it feels like to have spent 30-plus years in prison and walk free.”

Meet Stephanie

“Miss Summer [CERRC Counselor], I called to let you know I am still doing good and remember everything you said in [the] group. I'm starting school to be a drug and alcohol counselor!”

Meet Paul

“I just want to spend my life inspiring others, just like ECS inspired me. My ultimate goal is to be affiliated with ECS as long as possible. That’s how much this program means to me."
